Hello, I am Chloe.
I am a multidisciplinary creative based in Denver, Colorado.
The enormity of my grief is a measure of my love, and my writings are the process of attempting to put that into words.
My husband was diagnosed with stage 4B non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Over a year and a half my husband battled cancer with bravery and a quiet, yet fierce determination. He lived that year and half of his diagnosis for the future — he lived with such positivity and radiance, as if we had forever, as though we weren’t on borrowed time. His life was lived through connection and authenticity. His is magnetism and heart lit up the lives of those around him. In June 2025 I lost my John Marty — my husband of 18 years, best friend of 22 years, father to my son. My substack started as a way to update friends and family on John and his journey seeking medical treatment and care, and now continues as an outlet for me to document my experience in loss, grief and my life expanding forward.
Writing
I am no longer accepting freelance graphic design work at this time.
I have a passion for collaborating with small, local businesses in designing logos and branding that communicates the authentic identity of a company, what it does, and its values.

My work and home have been featured on several websites including Martha Stewart American Made Market, Oh So Beautiful Paper blog, Small Fry blog and more.
I hold a B.A. in Marketing from a small liberal arts college and began my career as Marketing Director for a real estate exchange company. In that role, I quickly discovered my passion for design. Because it was a small team, I wore many hats — marketing director, creative director, and graphic designer — developing not only the overall marketing strategy but also all creative content, advertisements, and collateral. I found myself most fulfilled by the design work.
In 2011, I received an Associate’s Degree from the Art Institute, and began my chapter as a freelance deisgner to bridge business strategy with thoughtful, creative execution. My niche was marrying marketing expertise with strong design sensibility.
My love for architectural and interior design runs deep. As a child, I filled countless pages with sketches of homes —elevations, floorplans, and interiors. This love of home design waited patiently for an outlet in my adult life, until in 2020-2021 we built our family home in North Denver in collaboration with Unum Home. Starting with Unum’s modern take on a Dutch Colonial, I was tasked with selecting the interior and exterior finishes of the home, as well as furnishing it once completed. Finished in early 2021, with landscaping soon after, the result is a modern, clean, Scandinavian-inspired home — a special project that allowed me to bring my lifelong love of design into reality.
